Well documented for the period. One reason for this is the disastrous rockslide triggered by the strongest aftershock. No systematic historical sources describe the loss

Remarks

Marche 11, a seiche and tsunami occurred in Lake Geneva. A disastrous rockslide followed on March 14, 1584. The rockslide, which killed around 320 people and a livestock of several hundred animals, was triggered by an aftershock
