Note the great difference between the Swiss and S-German Molasse Basin in the correlation of the magnetostratigraphic records to the Global Time Scale (GTS), despite the biostratigraphy (coloured) indicate similar ages for these deposits. Correlation between the small mammal chronology (MN units) and OSM units follows Kälin and Kempf (2009) and Abdul Aziz et al. (2010) (for a revision see Fig. 13).
