Compiled cross-section through Site 2 (Develier-Courtételle), constructed from the field and laboratory data collected from the site area. Holocene deposits are mainly palaeochannels with partly organic fills and flood loam. The upper Pleistocene alluvial sheet (T3) forms here the southern edge of the valley (height exaggerated by a factor of 10). The local stratigraphy and sedimentology (ringed numbers) is described in detail in Online Resource 2
