Fig. 18

Temperature-time(-burial) paths for two key localities in the northern (see red asterisk on tectonic sketches, Fig. 19) and southern (white asterisk, Fig. 19) Aar Massif, respectively. The proposed timing of deformation phases D1–D5 is highlighted for reference. Temperature-time constraints for the southern Aar Massif are: 0—stratigraphic age Matt Formation (Menkveld-Gfeller et al. 2016), 1—Ar/Ar on biotite (Rolland et al. 2009), 2—Ar/Ar on biotite, Rb/Sr on phengite (Challandes et al. 2008), 3—zircon fission track ages (Glotzbach et al. 2010; Michalski and Soom 1990), 4—(U-Th)/He on zircon (Nibourel 2019), 5—apatite fission track ages (Michalski and Soom 1990; Nibourel 2019), 6—(U-Th-Sm)/He on apatite (Glotzbach et al. 2010); Temperature-time constraints for the northern Aar Massif are: 7—RSCM \(T_p\) (Nibourel et al. 2018), 8—zircon fission track ages (Herwegh et al. 2020; Nibourel 2019; Wangenheim 2016), 9—(U-Th)/He on zircon (Nibourel 2019), 10—apatite fission track ages (Michalski and Soom 1990; Nibourel 2019)
