Drill core photographs. A Slump folds in 360° core scan: Layer of N-vergent tightly folded laminated anhydrite (LF 2) with sharp base (detachment) and top (truncation surface). Some laminae can be traced continuously around the folds. Note the fractured clay layers (boudinage) below the folded layers indicating extension (blue arrows). Marthalen-1, 976.12–976.35 m. B Horizontal core break in halite: Stretching lineation in dynamically recrystallized fine-grained halite (LF 15, Stadel-3, 1145.01 m). C Dissolution surface with microkarst in halite: A thin clayey seam (blue arrows) on top of a light cloudy halite layer marks the dissolution surface. The surface is irregularly shaped and forms a microkarst pit (red arrow). 360° core scan; Bülach-1, 1260.00–1260.20 m. D Horizontal core break in halite: Coarse-grained, blocky, more or less cubic halite with clay in the intercrystalline space (LF 18, Stadel-3, 1143.05 m)
